 Testimonial No.11

  • Hi Gerrit,

The tile panel was installed this week. We are absolutely delighted.

Sally will reply to your email

Many thanks
David

  • Dear Gerrit and Gillian,

I am sorry you beat me to it, as I had every intention of telling you the tiles are eventually up!  This only happened on Friday, so very few people have seen them, but both David and I and the lady who is painting the kitchen for us are delighted and they look as good, if not better, than the photographs you sent us by e.mail.

David and I so enjoyed meeting you at the factory in Hermanus and seeing all the beautiful tiles you create. Although we had an idea what we wanted it was only with your expertise that it all came together.

Although we collected the tiles from you some weeks ago in Cape Town, I only unpacked them and laid them out last week, as I was apprehensive that they might get broken.  None were broken because of your excellent packing, so now our lovely plaque is up on the wall above the hob.

As soon as the kitchen is complete I will take a photograph and send it to you.

Thank you for all your hard work.  We much appreciate what you have created.  We hope to see you again soon.

Yours sincerely,

 Sally Milton

Testimonial No.10

  •  Hi Gerritt.

I am currently down in France on holiday but as you know I was
delighted with the service, both from a design input as well as delivery.

Our order was not ordinary, our lead time was small but you managed to deliver
exactly what we wanted in advance of our builder's deadline.

Everyone who comes to the house loves the 'Aga Corner' as I call it and the quality speaks
for itself.

Your tiles are not cheap but that's because they stand out in
terms of finish and style.

I will not hesitate to recommend your company or
use you again in the future.

Kind regards
Liz

Testimonial No.9

  • Dear Gerrit

Thanks for the contact. I'm afraid that there were few design-orientated
people involved in our cottage as I pretty well did it all myself! However,
Margie Walsh, our architect, knows of your company and she was pleased when
she saw the tiles we'd chosen. The company who made our kitchen cupboards
also admired them. As we've not yet finished the cottage - but hope to in
the next fortnight - friends haven't been coming to see it. But I'm certain
that when they do, they, too, will love the tiles. Everything looks superb
and is just how we'd imagined they would look. They create features without
being ostentatious. And you and your team got the colour perfect! Craig and
I are thrilled with the result.

I also very much enjoyed working with you and your team. Everything was
dealt with very professionally and things went exactly according to plan.
This was especially gratifying because almost everything that could went
wrong during our renovation. (Hence the very lengthy period of building!)
You all responded quickly to my ideas and I was always confident that the
tiling would be successful. I especially appreciated the "extra" plain tiles
that arrived with our order. As it happened I had had to make a last-minute
alteration to the granite splashbacks on either side of the hob. And the
extractor fan unit had been set slightly higher than we'd expected. So we
needed some extra tiles to cut in half to create an additional row. All went
well with only two breakages!

You are welcome to use any of my remarks in your advertising if you think
they will be of any use. But please do not use my name.

I'm sorry that we've been unable to meet you at the cottage when you've
wanted to take photographs. We'll be happy to oblige but do not live there
yet. Please let us know several days in advance when you're likely to be
coming through Somerset West and we'll try to meet you there. I'm hoping
that by tomorrow (Friday) I can close the door on a completed project!

With best wishes to you all and thank you so very much for helping to make
our cottage something really special.

  • Dear Gerrit

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.

As we said when you were here, once the project is finished one tends to jump to the next, forgetting the successful completion.

The photographs you took are beautiful! Can’t quite believe it is our kitchen! Garden and Home phoned to ask if they could photograph it too and Di is due to come next week! So it is being much admired.

Our experience both with Twines Tiles and with Southern Art (both yourself and Gillian) was a real pleasure. Your advice was sound and the work was completed well within our time frame. When we realized we had under-estimated the amount of tiles needed (cause of a design change) a lot of time and effort was spent matching the previous tiles and now you can barely tell the difference – in fact the slight change makes it look more individual and original.

Our kitchen was designed by Nicolwood, manufactured by the cabinetmaker, Peter Christie-Smith (Tel: 082-9385265) and the tiler is employed by our builder, Pete Matthiae (021-7617238).

I hope this is useful feedback.

Many thanks for helping us to make our kitchen a joy! Regards

Testimonial No.6

  • Dear Gerrit and Gillian
We love our kitchen tiles - and they are much admired by all our friends.
It was a pleasure to work with you. The brief was fully understood and perfectly executed - with enough choice to give us plenty to think about. And to have everything ready within the given time frame is - sad to say - extremely rare in the building industry in this country.
We'll be back.

Testimonial No.2

FOR THE KIND ATTENTION OF GILLIAN GREER :

Dear Twinkle,

At the outset may I say how wonderfully refreshing it is to know that, despite so many increasing examples and experiences to the contrary in the world at large and in the New South Africa in particular, the art of “providing service” is still alive, well, and certainly practiced by one, Gillian, of Southern Art Ceramics.

In truth, as you had only made contact with me mid afternoon yesterday, and, following our chat, had still to search your archives for details of my previous order, you could have knocked me over with a feather last night when I opened my system, downloaded my messages, and found your e-mail, below.

You, dear Madam, are indeed a “Star”, which is why I have deemed it fit to accord you the recognition you so richly deserve by way of my opening salutation!   Thank you, too, for your proactive thought, and the Iogic which I much very appreciate, in providing me with two “alternative fonts” for consideration. In this respect, both in the interests of conformity (i.e. to be the same as the other sign) and as I feel that, given the spelling of the word, the “full stop” after the abbreviation would tend to offset potential confusion between an “ I “ and a “ T “, I have decided to go with Font 1. In all other respects your Quotation is acceptable, and I would very much appreciate it if you would proceed accordingly, with, as usual, all haste of course! Why? Simply because I would like to be able to take delivery of the finished product in Cape Town when next I go through on 20.07.2006. To this end, I shall be grateful if you would kindly let me know when it is ready for collection, as also your physical address (should it differ from that below) so that I can have my Daughter’s fiancée, a resident of Hermanus, pick this up for me before the time and leave it with her in Cape Town for me to collect when I see her. In conclusion, I would add that in a few moments I’m going to go next door to ABSA Bank to effect the payment of R365-00, and will thereafter fax a copy of the deposit slip to you.

Once again, many thanks for your prompt response, and all your kindness.

Sincerely yours, Walter.

Testimonial No.1

Dear Gillian
Thank you for your mail & layouts.
Option 1 is great, I love it,  exactly what I was looking for   - with a few alterations please:
*Could you move the tail down slightly, because I would love the mermaid to have much longer, flowing hair.
*I also love the starfishes from option 2 - could you maybe
incorporate in option 1a few stars,  I also like the colour of the stars.  What do you think,  will it work?
* The wording of option 1 can be slightly darker - not quite the dark blue of option 2?
*Would it be possible to incorporate a bit of turquoise in option 1 - its my favourite colour.
Thank you.
Kind  Regards
Elma G
