Artist Statement:

This series of art objects intrigues me every time I view them.

Why? In awe, I wonder who created these facial expressions, I know that I did ... BUT it feels like I am looking at the objects as if I am seeing it for the first time!, just like you are viewing it now.

There seem to be a link between the arttiles, in a series, that are created during the same work session. Is it due to the technique or is it some quality that evolves when you the participant interacts with the art work?

The small cracks in the unpainted tile stimulated the position of the nose and mouth but the contours of the cracks contain some recognizable emotive qualities.

These faces will mirror your own mood and will be different day from day!
